Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is introduced yearly to a person who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to enhancing the lives of kids in our neighborhood.
Brian Houchins, a dedicated elementary school teacher and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of numerous children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven marketing campaign to improve local playgrounds, making certain safe and inclusive play spaces for all youngsters.
The award ceremony will be held on January 15, 2024, at the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will characteristic speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
