Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered yearly to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to enhancing the lives of kids in our community.
Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary college instructor and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of countless youngsters in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embrace establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven campaign to upgrade local playgrounds, guaranteeing protected and inclusive play spaces for all kids.
The award ceremony shall be held on January 15, 2024, at the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will feature speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
