Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors  Brian Houchins  with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is introduced yearly to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to enhancing the lives of kids in our neighborhood.

Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary college instructor and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s training and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of countless kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven marketing campaign to upgrade local playgrounds, guaranteeing safe and inclusive play areas for all children.

The award ceremony shall be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will feature speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
