Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award
Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023
The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is presented yearly to a person who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to bettering the lives of children in our community.
Brian Houchins , a dedicated elementary faculty trainer and neighborhood volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of numerous children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and leading a successful community-driven campaign to upgrade native playgrounds, ensuring secure and inclusive play areas for all youngsters.
The award ceremony shall be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will feature speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
