Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award
Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023
The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered annually to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to enhancing the lives of children in our community.
Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary faculty teacher and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s training and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of numerous kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and main a profitable community-driven campaign to improve native playgrounds, ensuring safe and inclusive play areas for all youngsters.
The award ceremony will be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will feature speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
