Child Center of Pennsylvania honors Brian Houchins Community Recognition Award

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the winner of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is presented yearly to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to improving the lives of children in our neighborhood.
Brian Houchins , a devoted elementary school teacher and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children's education and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of countless children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins' initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven campaign to upgrade local playgrounds, guaranteeing protected and inclusive play areas for all children.
The ceremony for the award will be held on January 15,2024,2024on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will feature speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins' contributions, and the award presentation.
